Prof. Aleksander Surdej is an economist specializing in public policy analysis. From September 2016 he is an ambassador, Permanent Representative of Poland to the OECD (www.oecd.org) and since 2 June 2021 the Dean of OECD Ambassadors. He is professor at the Cracow University of Economics.
His research interests focus on the methodology of policy analysis, labour market policies and policies of social regulations.
He is an author of several books in Polish like: Determinants of Administrative and Legal Regulation in the Economy (2006), Economic Analysis in Public Policy (2012) and many chapters in volumes published in English. He has authored reports for the World Bank and the EC related to labour market developments and informal employment. He has studied in SAIS Johns Hopkins University and EUI (European University Institute) and has conducted research at NIAS (the Netherlands) and UNU WIDER (Finland).
