Joanna Sikorska holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Middle East Studies and a Master’s degree in International Migration studies at the Faculty of International and Political Studies at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.
Employed as a research and teaching assistant at the Department of European Studies and Economic Integration at the Krakow University of Economics.
Since 2019, she has been employed on the project entitled “Measuring Religious Change” carried out by the Center for Advanced Studies of Population and Religion (CASPAR) at the Krakow University of Economics in cooperation with the Pew Research Center.
In the years 2020 – 2022 she has been involved in the project entitled “Future Migration Scenarios for Europe” (FUME) implemented under the Horizon 2020 program funded by the European Union.
In 2022, she started cooperation with the Multiculturalism and Migration Observatory at the Krakow University of Economics. The results of research on the population of naturalised citizens in Krakow were published in a report entitled “New Poles-Krakowians – naturalisation and anchoring in the urban space”.
In her research, she is particularly interested in issues related to international migration, socioeconomic integration, religion and ethnicity.
