Science, Innovation and Inspiration – a Special Doctoral Workshop Featuring Prof. Marco Cucculelli

On 20 May 2026, the international methodological workshop entitled “Doctoral Workshop in Innovation Research” was held, organised by the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in cooperation with the Centre for Family Business. The event brought together doctoral students and early-career researchers interested in innovation, entrepreneurship, and management.

The special guest of the workshop was Prof. Marco Cucculelli from the Università Politecnica delle Marche (Italy) – a renowned expert in the fields of innovation economics, firm dynamics, and family business development. The Professor shared his extensive research and methodological experience, presenting current research directions in innovation studies and practical aspects of designing scientific research.

The workshop adopted an interactive format based on the “learning by doing” approach. Participants had the opportunity to present their research interests, work on their project concepts, and consult research problems, hypotheses, and methodologies. A particularly valuable element of the event was the research pitch session, during which doctoral students presented their research ideas and received expert feedback.

The programme also covered topics related to the strategic development of an academic career, publication opportunities, the internationalisation of research, and the acquisition of research funding.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to all participants for their active involvement, inspiring discussions, and for contributing to a unique atmosphere of academic collaboration and exchange of experience. Special thanks are extended to Prof. Marco Cucculelli for his highly inspiring lectures and valuable guidance for young researchers.
